PAKISTAN'S MARBLE EXPORT EARNS 15.8 mln dlrs.ISLAMABAD, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan earned 15.8 million US dollars with the export of marble in the past year, Pakistan Television reported.
The 40 percent export of the marble was in the shape of handicraft while the rest in the form of slabs and bricks.
Pakistani Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Director General, Sikandar Ali Kerriyo was quoted as saying that at present, mining of marble in Pakistan is not done by machines, therefore a lot of breakage occurs due to this outdated process of mining.
Ultimately the marble quality and demand in international market will be raised further if machine are to be used…
